Nick Hanks is currently working for English Heritage with the National Monument Record Centre. He has carried out historical research and archaeological surveying for The National Trust and Natural England. He is a recognised teacher at the University of Bristol, and has lectured at other universities. He also gives talks and leads guided walks to groups and societies. He has been director of the Slaughterbridge Training Excavation Project (STEP) since 2003. He is now involved with a wider landscape project running in parallel; the Tintagel Environs Survey Project (TESP), which is directed by Dr Niall Finneran of Winchester College.
His research interests include:- Ritual practice, buildings and material culture (ancient and modern); Garden archaeology; and Performance archaeology. >> More
