The geek shall inherit the earth, by Yvonne Aburrow
Has anyone else noticed the increasingly yawning gap between techies and non-techies? As one of the "interpreters" (and a geek), I frequently find myself trying to get people not to be frightened of computers...
a divided world,
few interpreters between
techies and users
the Web has woven
itself a nexus of mind:
the all-seeing eye
On the balcony
The ArchGeek waves to the crowd
- new upgrade released
the sacred software
is guarded from the profane -
believers only
the unbelievers
dwell outside, beyond the Web -
eyeless in Geekland
they called us nerdy,
anoraks, geeks, poindexters -
now they are outcast
those who understand,
we dwell in the promised land
- people of binary
the inner sanctum,
only Geek is spoken here -
translation needed
technicians scurry
among the neural networks,
architects of mind.
