the forest fire - stretching wings,
eating toasted seeds.
nitrate-laden seas
on distant worlds - vast and slow
cetacean dreams.
mouth-parts quiver
beneath the layer of ice
extremophiles lurk
the blue light beneath
picks out the vent formations:
life accelerates
desert winds carry
little specks of consciousness -
crossroads at midnight
lichen moves slowly,
increasing complexity:
everything crumbles
